So at the age of 60, my wife bought me a guitar for valentines day . I'm starting from the beginning, learning to read music, notes on strings, and chords. The theory of it seems simple enough but the brain doesn't soak it up like it used to and the fingers are a little stiffer these days ( also trigger finger on the left ring finger # 3 ). I'm taking lessons from a very patient 28 year old who is excited with all my questions. He keeps telling that I've just learned to stand up stop trying to run . I know you're wondering, it's a Fender Squire acoustic, some day a nice Strat. I know stop running .

Hmmm....i dunno about theory being simple, but it can go a lot deeper then what you are probably learning since U just started. I find it mind numbing and have just always played by ear. Too much work for what i've always played. (classic rock and pop) If you have gear questions tho, ask me anything. I've been modding guitars and amps since the 70s long before it was even easy to get parts. (today there is a never ending supply of anything imaginable) So i have a ridiculous amount of time spent building/modding tweaking. Acoustics to as i started on them as u are.

Yea, poor choice of words, should have said concept. The whole theory of this thing is light years beyond me so I won't be Hughey Thomasson any time soon . The funny part is on my first lesson the instructor asked me " What song do you really want learn " and my reply was Green Grass and High Times, he said I don't recall that one but I'll look it up. 2nd. lesson I asked if he looked it up and he said " yeah.... we're not there yet " I do have to say my air guitar sounds a lot cleaner than my acoustic

Not to be confused with "Green grass and high times" by Taylor Swift....
